We offer a comprehensive valuation and auction service to clients across the region, handling the sale of antiques, mid-century & modern furnishings, artworks, jewellery, silverware & ceramics.
Stuart Watson
Stuart himself has over 40 years’ experience as an auctioneer and valuer, having worked in the town all of his life, is a fountain of knowledge, not only on all things antique but also local town history. Now joined in the business by his son Edward Watson, we aim to provide a service where all clients are treated to the highest levels of courtesy and confidentiality and aim to ensure the best experience possible as well as the best outcomes!

Edward Watson MNAVA
Edward is a qualified and registered member of NAVA (National Association of Valuers & Auctioneers) and has over 10 years’ experience working in the auction industry.
Edward specialises in complete probate clearance sales, handles the sale of all furniture lots to pass through JSW & is the first port of call for commercial dispersal sales.

Our business is a central hub for both buying and selling in the region with a broad network of clients and an international audience of bidders accessed via fully illustrated online auction sales. Antique & General auctions are held fortnightly on Thursdays throughout the year, with specialist Tool auctions held on Saturdays five times a year.

Established in 2002 by Stuart Watson, the business operated based in Maidstone Market Hall for 18 years with fortnightly auction sales holding host to up to 2000 lots! As the years pass and the industry develops as must business, and we are now based in our town centre warehouse premises. From here we can offer clients a fully photographed online auction service, marketing lots to an international audience of bidders and working to realise top hammer prices for your lots.
Recycling
J. Stuart Watson is committed to recycling. We like to believe that selling by auction is the original and our favourite form of recycling! However, even amongst house clearance waste, we look to recycle as much as possible. Wood waste is sent to create energy, metals are recycled, linens and clothes offered to charities. As licensed waste carriers we only dispose of waste into regulated waste transfer stations and follow the waste producers hierarchy.
